About Loose Leaf Sencha Green Tea
encha green tea comes from the Kyoto region of Japan. It is made from small leaves and has a more refined taste than others forms of green tea. Additionally, the color of the tea is actually green, not yellow, like many Chinese varieties. Sencha is said to have a bittersweet taste that goes well with both seafood and chocolate.
Green tea also has the ability to lower total cholesterol and high blood pressure. These features make green tea excellent at preventing cardiovascular disease. Green tea is also used to stabilize blood sugar levels in diabetics, clear skin affected by acne, and treat and prevent cancer. The medical journal Leukemia Research reports that a team of Mayo Clinic College of Medicine investigators, headed by hematologist Tait Shanafelt, M.D., discovered four cases in which green tea caused major improvement in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
